Thanksgiving Recipes: Ham

Yes I know Thanksgiving has gone and passed, but I still wanted to share recipes for 2 of the several items I cooked for Thanksgiving dinner at my parents!   I'm usually not a pork eater.  I stopped eating it years ago because  I'd get headaches plus I really wanted to cut it from my diet!!    However, there are 2 kinds of  pork I do eat and it's Ham and this 1 kind of sausage. The ham is around Thanksgiving/Christmas.  The sausage is a spicy sausage I may use when I cook Jambalaya, baked pasta or grilled like a hot dog.

Ok now that I'm done rambling onto the recipe.   Now when we eat ham (during the Holidays) we usually get a Honey Baked Ham, the BEST!!  The downside to them is the cost, to feed my family it takes a good size ham and at times no one wants to pay for a $70 ham.  So we buy one to cook, it comes out pretty good but nothing beats that glaze/taste of Honey Baked.

Blogging 101 - A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

I haven't been blogging on either of my blogs this one or Sweet Tooth Desserts (shameless plug, lol) for long so I don't know ALOT about the Do's/Dont's of blogging.  However, I know for myself as someone that loves looking at blogs having great quality pictures to look at really makes a blog!!

When you see an advertisement whether on TV, a billboard or magazine what draws you first, the visual right? Most of the time you probably don't hear or read what is being advertised first, what you see catches your eye.  The same is true for blogs.  One of the main things that keep me going back to some of my favorite fashion/food blogs are the great photos

Now I know some people don't have a photographer at their disposal, so taking pictures of yourself can be hard.  Also, having a DSLR camera isn't something everyone maybe able to afford.  I know for me I don't have either so yes I'm in a bad position.

I have a Samsung BL103 digital camera (I'll graduate to something better one day) and it's hit or miss.  So at times it doesn't take good photos, like these here.

A REASON TO THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL!

Just wanted to take time out from cooking and baking to wish everyone a VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!  I don't know about you but I have soooooooooooooo much to be Thankful and Grateful for!   God was been AWESOME to me and my family!   No I don't have all the things or have accomplished all my goals, but the fact that God continues to wake me up every morning so that I can have another day to reach them makes me Thankful and Grateful.  Not just for that but for a Great Family and Friends who love and support me always.  The great people I have meet here through both my blogs!  Mostly for the Love God shows me and ALL that He does for me because He loves me!!

So my prayer is that everyone have a Blessed, Happy, Joyful, Enjoyable and Wonderful Thanksgiving, sharing it with those you love and remembering  NOT just in WORD but in a kind DEED those in NEED!!

Getting To Know Me, Getting To Know All About Me - Outfit of the Day

I figured that I should share somethings about me, so everyone that comes to my blog can get to know me better!!

I am a movie person, I like movies of all kinds, well except horror.  I used to watch Nightmare on Elm Street and laugh at Freddy because he was more funny than scary to me.  However, these days I don't watch them at all.  I attempted to go see 'The Grudge" when it first came out and I couldn't even watch the movie I was sooooooo terrified.  I had my ears covered and my eye clothes, we ended up leaving without finishing the movie.  I can't do horror that is realistic, NO SIR!!

Put Love to Work - Inspirational Moment

Put Love to Work

– 1 Corinthians 13:13

What do you do when you're facing a particularly stubborn problem? A problem that resists your every effort to solve it?

Put the power of love to work on it! The power of love is the greatest power in the universe. It's beyond defeat. It never fails (1 Cor. 13:8).

The Bible says God is love. So when you release love into a situation, you have released God into it. Think about that! When you start releasing love into a situation, Jesus becomes responsible for its success.

What is this love I'm talking about?

First Corinthians 13 tells us it's patient and kind. It's not jealous or haughty or conceited or rude. It doesn't insist on its own way. It's not touchy or resentful and it pays no attention to a suffered wrong.
Love rejoices when right and truth prevail and it bears up under anything and everything that comes. It's ever ready to believe the best of every person. Its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances and it endures everything without weakening (The Amplified Bible).

The person who refuses to love is missing out on the very best God has to offer.

Don't you miss out on any of it. Release love every moment into every situation, every prayer and every thought until it totally consumes your life. It will strengthen you and cast out every fear that has robbed you of God's greater blessings. It will drive the devil out of your affairs and set you free from every torment of darkness.

Put love to work on the stubborn problems in your life. It's the one solution they'll never be able to resist.

This Is The Remix: Blogger Style Re-creation

Since I started this blog I have meet some beautiful and very stylish ladies.  I check their blogs religiously to see what they are wearing so I can maybe borrow inspiration for my own outfits.  Some of their style/outfits go beyond my wardrobe since I am still rebuilding it but I still draw inspiration from their style.   One of the those wonderful, sweet and effortlessly stylish ladies is Jeeda from  SWOON.  When I say her style is effortless, it's like she take things out of her closet puts them on and it all falls into place perfectly with no real thought.  I have yet to see her in a outfit that I didn't like.  So I thought I would try my hand at trying to recreate one of my favorite looks from her.

I love love the extra wide leg on these pant, the blouse is perfect and that Jessica Simpson clutch just adds that extra something to the entire outfit.  You can't see her fab Calvin Klein shoes in these pictures, but I believe they are these.

Because We Like To Party.....................

HI ALL!!!  I hope everyone had a great weekend, mine was busy.   Me and 2 of my sisters have an event planning and catering business (3G Event Planning and Catering) and of course I have my desserts business  and we had an event to do this weekend.   It was a baby shower, our older sister helped too as it was for her daughter.  I usually post stuff like this on my other blog Sweet Tooth, but thought I would share it here too because not everyone that follows me on here follows my other blog.  Plus, this blog is about EVERYTHING I love so hey why not!! :-)

Let Me Take My Gazelles Off - Inspired Outfit

(one of my favorite songs from her latest album)
 .
I am a BIG fan of Miss Jilly from Philly and her latest album does not disappoint.  I'm not just a fan of her music I'm a fan of how she embraces her full figure and when you see her dressed, she is DRESSED and FIERCE!!  She knows how to wear clothes that showcase the best parts of her figure.  Now that she has lost weight she looks even better.  Oh and let's not forget the short hair cut, it looks great on her, fierce and chic!!

In her picture on her latest album cover she looks even more fierce.  She has the wild, long, curly hair, the sexy outfit showcasing her slimmer figure and she is rocking her gazelles.  So I thought I would recreate that look.

Date Night Sexy

So what do you think?  Perfect for a date night or girls night out!! Depending on the weather you might want to change the sandal to a sexy bootie, the leggings to tights and maybe the tunic to a off-shoulder long sleeve sweater!!
