Makings of a Divanista: New Addtions

Hello Beautiful People!!   I hope your week is going well, it's Wednesday and the weekend is upon us again......so happy!! :-)

This is just a quick post about some new additions to my closet. Blogging is such an enabler when it comes to shopping!! LOL  No I'm kidding, I do shop a tad bit more than I used to, but it has to be a bargain 99.9% of the time. You know I just find it hard to spend money alot of times, I really do.  I'm always thinking something might happen and I need that money so I don't spend it.  Plus, I don't like using credit cards, I have one that I use for really small purchases and pay off (right away) to keep activity on it to help with my credit scores but other than that I don't use it. (call me crazy).  So my closet goes lacking at time but it's ok I work with what I have and add when I can pry the money out of my own hands LOL!!  Now there are things I will spend the money on that I know I don't need to buy cheap (timeless statement pieces) so I do know better!!. :-D

ANYWHO enough of that rambling......on to my new additions:

These beauties caught my eye as I was walking down the mall with my mom and son this weekend.  I wasn't really there to buy anything but said if I found something I really liked and was a good price then I might get it.

When I saw these, I knew I had to have them.  I really love the style of this shoe and the tall wedge.  I can really see my wearing this with a cute maxi skirt or dress or some capris in a boho chic style.   I love boho chic don't you?  Even though my closet doesn't reflect it like I want it to, that is what my style is or rather what I working towards.  I don't like being ultra conservative I like to have some edge, funkiness and boho chicness to my outfits LOL!!

Aren't they lovely, I can't wait to wear this.  They are high, but very comfortable, the platform really levels out the high wedge!!!

UP next, 2 maxi dresses I got from Target and nothing says boho chic like maxi dresses.  I got these on salea week or so ago for $14.99 each, which I couldn't pass up.  I love maxi dresses (and skirts) you can dress them up or down. Plus they are so comfortable and effortless don't you think?!?!

I really like this golden mustard color, I don't think I have anything in my closet this color.  I am thinking the wedges (above) would be perfect to wear with this!!

This one is black made just like the other one. I would've gotten another color, they have what they call a "crab shell" colored one I liked but I needed a new black one so I got it.  You can find the dresses here they are no longer on sale, but they are still a pretty good price at $19.99.

Last but not least.  I didn't buy this item but I won it on a blog giveaway!  The wonderful Shelia over at Style Agent  909 was hosting the giveaway on her blog, I entered and WON!!!   YAY ME!! When you get a chance, go check out Shelia's blog she is quit the savvy thrifter.

Don't you love this color, I guess it can be considered a Kelly Green.  I really like the pockets in the front and the buttons across the waist add some cute detailing.

Now this skirt is a wrap skirt probably can't tell, but the wrap is in the back not the front.  As much as I like wrap dress/skirts I think I am going to have to alter this skirt.  I can just see myself walking down the street and a strong wind comes along and.......BOY OH BOY!!  Even with a slip on that can mean TROUBLE.  Soooo I will be making it into a regular skirt, because uhmm I don't need any mishaps from the back!!! :-) LOL

Well that is all for now, I hope everyone has a great evening!!

TTYL!!

  2. Lovin' the shoes Carsedra! You found some good items, which will most definitely contribute to the boho feel. And I hear ya on spending money on certain items, that's why I have no problem hittin' up Forever 21 etc. especially for trendy items...I'm still a work in progress on my shoes and handbags though;)

  5. I may have told you this already, but I bought a snake print dress last week. I couldn't decide if I wanted black, brown or snake print shoes, but now that I've seen your shoes I know I want snake! Thanks for the shout out and I hope you can make the skirt work.
