This Is The Remix: Blogger Style Re-Creation

Good Day Ladies and Gents, I hope your week has gone great!!  Today is Friday and you know what that means, YES it's the weekend!! LOL  What do you have planned this weekend, anything exciting?

Well I won't prolong time with the chit chat.  I'm here with the latest edition of Blogger Style Re-Creation.  Today it features that beautiful, stylish and oh so talented Mimi of  Mimi G. DIY Fashion & Style.  If you haven't checked out her blog do yourself a favor and do so.  She has amazing style and a added plus alot of the fabulous pieces she wears she makes herself.  I sew, but haven't in years and she makes me want to start again. I'm not as good as she is but if I get back into it maybe I could be one day!! :-)

Speaking of making her clothes, 2 of the items from her outfit that I am re-creating she made. She made the shawl/wrap and the slacks that she is wearing, fierce right?  Sidenote: every time I see her hair it makes me want to cute mine, but I am trying to be good and let it grow!! :-)

Changes: Blog Design Advice

I am sure some of you have noticed that I have changed the design and layout of my blog.  I was trying to go for a more clean simple look for my blog and I think it's ok, but I  miss having my picture in my blog header so I might change it.

There are quit a few blogs I follow that have that clean, uncluttered, simple look and it looks great.  Others have a colorful, fun blog with pictures and their blogs look great too, so I am a bit torn on which I like. I think previously mine looked and felt a little amateurish and cluttered, but not so sure now.

What do you think, should I add the color and pictures back or do you like the clean, simple look?  Does the design of the blog draw you to a blog or does that matter?

Inspirational Moment

It's Not Over Till It's Over

– 1 Peter 5:9-10

No matter how long you've been living by faith, no matter how much you've learned about it, every once in a while you may suffer a setback. You may run into some circumstances that just don't turn out the way you expected.

If that happens, remember this: Those setbacks are just temporary. You may have lost a battle, but you're not going to lose the war. Just get up and go at it again.

"But I don't understand it," you say. "I did the best I could. I walked in all the truth I knew to walk in. Why didn't I get the victory?"

Because there was something you didn't know! It shouldn't shock you too much that there are things you don't know about the realm of the spirit. Ken and I have been in the ministry for over 20 years. We've spent untold hours in the Word. Yet it seems like the more we learn, the more we realize we don't know.

So, when we get to a situation where we can't seem to get victory, we have to ask God for more wisdom. If you'll look in 2 Samuel 21, you can see a time when King David had to do that. His country had been suffering from a famine for three years and David just didn't understand it, so he inquired of the Lord. The Lord told him the famine had come because of something Saul had done! Isn't that amazing? Saul had been dead for years, yet what he'd put in motion in the realm of the spirit was still affecting his country.

David could have just given up when his usual confessions of faith and ways of praying didn't drive out that famine, but he didn't. He inquired of God for more wisdom. He used his temporary setback to cause him to seek more knowledge from God.

Follow his example! Overcome the habit of quitting because of temporary setbacks. Refuse to let them knock you out of the game. After all, this thing's not over till it's over. And the Bible says when it's all over, you'll have won. So just be steadfast in your faith. In the end your victory is guaranteed.

Autism Awareness Month: My Son

As some of you may know, April is Autism Awareness Month and as part of bringing awareness about Autism I wanted to share the story of my son.  My son Keion, "KJ" as we call him was diagnosed with autism when he was 3 years old and to say I was heart broken is putting it lightly.  As a parent you never dream of your children not being "normal" in the way some would see it. You want them as healthy as healthy can be, you don't think about them having an incurable disease, mental, physical or developmental disorders, I know I didn't.  So the day I found out I was crushed, I didn't know what to think or do, I felt totally helpless.   He appeared to be and develop normally up to the age of 3 until we noticed that his speech wasn't developing like it should.

Easter Sunday: Outfit of The Day

Hi All!!!   I want to say HELLO to my new followers so happy that you decided to follow me!!!  I hope everyone's Easter/Resurrection Day was a blessed one.  Mine was pretty good, after a wonderful church service, we had a easter egg hunt for our kids and barbequed at my parents house.  We had some family over (a few people we were NOT expecting, but I digress) and it was pretty cool.

Quickly, I wanted to share with you a few pictures of what I wore to church.

Instagram on Android: It Is Finally Here

Yesterday had to be one exciting day for MANY Android users, an app that millions have been patiently waiting for was finally released.    The coveted "INSTAGRAM", the cool photo sharing/editing and social networking app.  The app that alot of iPhone,iPad and iPod touch users held close and dear to their hearts.  This app was so exclusive for some apple users that some of them  literally HATED the idea of it being made available to non-apple users.  It was almost like it was a club for apple users only and no android users (or other interfaces) allowed.  I even read that some apple users threatened to stop using it when it was launched for android, yes it is that serious.

Me and My Camera/Tripod: Outfit of The Day

So some may or may not know that I finally got my tripod for my camera about 2 weeks ago.  I searched and debated about one for a while.  Juanette over at Fashion nette-work told me about one at Target that was a really good price.  I went, saw it and bought it, thank you Juanette.  So now I can take more outfit pictures.....next will be a better camera.

I really like outdoor pictures, the lighting is so much better but there are time I don't have time to do a mini photo shoot outside because I have to get home, so I take them at home.  Even though it's still light outside when I get home the lighting coming into the house isn't all that great. Maybe I just need figure out this camera more because I am sure there is a way to fix the lighting
